Alsace and Black Forest

For a unique blend of French and German cultures, a visit to this region is a must. Alsace is situated at the crossroads of Europe, and its capital, Strasbourg, is home to the headquarters of the European Parliament, making it politically one of the most important regions in the European Union. The Black Forest is a region of outstanding natural beauty with dense forests and sunny meadows, waterfalls, lakes and vineyards.

Famed for its local crafts, traditions and proudly worn national costume, the region as a whole is surrounded by a land of beautiful houses with steeply pitched roofs and fascinating collections of traditionally made cuckoo clocks.
