The Czech Republic is one of Europe’s newer states when, following the Velvet Revolution of 1989, the former Czechoslovakia peacefully dissolved into its constituent states, the Czech Republic and Slovakia in 1993.
And although there are numerous attractions throughout the country, notably the many castles and chateaux, it’s the capital, Prague, which is the most popular destination. And it has great value accommodation and transport.
