Iceland

The country with the chilliest of names is rapidly becoming one of Europe's hottest destinations. Much of Iceland's popularity is due to its natural features - the electric green landscape is full of wide open spaces and geological wonders: intricately carved mountains, belching mud pools, steaming hot springs, blinding glaciers, heavenly waterfalls and hellish volcanoes. And because of the island’s endless supply of geothermal energy, pollution is nonexistent. In addition to its expansive landscape, Iceland has a rich history and folklore tradition. Reykjavik, a young and energetic city, is the world’s most northerly capital. Containing more than one third of Iceland’s population it has a thriving cultural life and dynamic art scene.
