Rhine Valley

The River Rhine, the commercial artery of Europe, lends its name to one of the best known areas in Germany. It is a land of fairytale castles, gothic churches, folklore and legends, all steeped in history and tradition. Since 2002, the romantic middle Rhine has been registered as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site.

Also to be found in the Rhineland is Phantasialand, one of Europe’s top theme parks.
