Our Safety Management - Your Peace of Mind
We recognise that safety is a key issue for any school or group trip, and a safe trip will always be our absolute priority.
Our Safety Management System was developed in conjunction with RoSPA - the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents - and covers all of the key aspects of organising a school trip.
It covers the key aspects of organising a school or group trip, including:
- Safety audits of accommodation
- Safety audits of coach companies
- 24 hour emergency assistance during your trip
- Comprehensive travel insurance if required
- Adherence to HASPEV guidelines
- Subsidised inspection visits

Your Financial Protection
The air holiday packages we offer are ATOL protected by the Civil Aviation Authority. Our ATOL number is ATOL 5525 (Acorn Venture Ltd.).
All other bookings are protected through the ABTA bond scheme. We are a Member of ABTA, membership number v3629.

School Travel Forum:
Founded in 2003, the School Travel Forum (STF) is a democratic, not-for-profit organisation of leading school tour operators which is dedicated to promoting best practice and safety in school travel. As a founding assured member of the STF, we adhere to a rigorous code of practice and safety management standards that are externally verified each year by leading health and safety consultants. The STF Code of Practice provides assurances on safety provisions made by tour operators in connection with third-party accommodation, transport and visits.
Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge:
Encounters Europe was one of the very first organisations in the country to be awarded the Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge, recognising us as a provider of quality, safely managed educational experiences for young people. The Government’s ‘Health and Safety of Learners Outside the Classroom’ consultation paper makes it very clear that “for more complex off-site visits, the Quality Badge scheme helps you use accredited providers – you needn’t risk assess what’s offered by holders of a Quality Badge.”
